On October 23, the National Innovation Project Forum of Local Academies of Social Sciences, sponsored by Shandong Academy of Social Sciences(SASS), was held in Jinan. The forum coincides with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the SASS. Liu Jiayi, secretary of the provincial party committee, made important instructions. He pointed out that in the past 40 years, the SASS has fully utilized the advantages of think tanks, strengthened basic research and applied research, and made positive contributions to the prosperity of social science theory and the development of economy and society. He asked the SASS to study and implement in depth the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th Party Congress, more firmly establish "four consciousnesses", strengthen "four confidences", and always adhere to the correct political direction and scientific research direction, focusing on the decision-making and deployment of provincial Party committees and provincial governments, do investigation and research in depth, and be a good think tank of provincial Party committees and provincial governments.

Xie Fuzhan, president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. He affirmed the achievements of the SASS in the past 40 years. He pointed out that the implementation of Innovation Project is an effective way to stimulate the vitality of scientific research and innovation and the vitality of talent creation. The forum discussed and summarized the successful experience of the local Academy of Social Sciences in implementing innovation project, which is very important.

Tang Zhouyan, vice chairman of the provincial CPPCC and secretary of the Party Committee of SASS, said that the SASS will conscientiously study and implement the requirements of Dean Xie Fuzhan and Secretary Liu Jiayi, strengthen the study of major theoretical and practical issues, and be the leader of the philosophy and social science research in Shandong Province. We will fully study the experience of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other Academies of Social Sciences, to make more contribution to the construction of modern strong province in the new era.

On behalf of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Kong Fanke, member of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the head of the Lecturer of Shandong provincial Party committee, put forward work requirements for the SASS.

More than 30 representatives of the Academy of Social Sciences and all the staff of the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences attended the meeting.
