On August 2, the signing ceremony of the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between SASS and Ludong University was held in Yantai. Zhang Shucun, president of the SASS and Xu Dongsheng, secretary of the Party Committee of Ludong University, respectively delivered speeches and signed cooperation agreements on behalf of both parties. The ceremony was presided over by Kang Shiyong, vice president of Ludong University, and Yuan Hongying, vice president of SASS, attended the signing ceremony.

President Zhang Shucun congratulated the two sides on signing the agreement to become a friendly cooperation unit. He briefly introduced that SASS conduct research around the work of  the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial government, provide basic research results and intellectual support for major planning projects and event planning of the provincial Party Committee and provincial government. He also introduced the basic information on innovation project, scientific research reform and think tank construction. He said that Ludong University has a long history, outstanding characteristics in running schools, and has obvious advantages in applying countermeasures research. He hoped that the two sides will strengthen communication, improve the mechanism, promote collaborative innovation and joint research, ensure that all cooperation issues are implemented, continuously improve the philosophical and social science research and collaborative innovation capabilities, promote mutual development, make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Shandong. 

Xu Dongsheng, secretary of Ludong University, pointed out that SASS is the leading geese in the field of social science research in Shandong Province and one of the core think tanks of the Shandong Provincial Government. Over the years, SASS has contributed many influential countermeasures and suggestions for the economic and social development of Shandong Province. It is a model for our study in social science research and think tank construction. He briefly introduced the history and development status of Ludong University as well as the inheritance and development of the spirit of revolution and the spirit of literature, which were  injected at the beginning of the school. Ludong University has maintained close ties with SASS  for many years. The cooperation between the Bohai Rim Development Research Institute and the Northeast Asian Research Institute and SASS has also achieved remarkable results. He said that the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement will further expand the scope and strength of cooperation between the two sides in social science research and think tank construction, promote mutual progress in the field of cooperation, and promote higher and stronger development in both directions. 

The comprehensive strategic cooperation was highly valued by both sides. Kang Shiyong, vice president of Ludong University and Liu Xinhua, former vice president, made a special trip to SASS to discuss the cooperation. The signing of this comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement is an important measure to further promote the collaborative innovation of universities and research institutes, and further enhance the service capacity of “modern economic and cultural strong province construction”, “going ahead” and “new and old kinetic energy conversion”. Through complementary advantages in talents and resources, the two sides have implemented strong alliances in personnel training, scientific research, academic exchanges, scientific research platforms and think tank construction, and played a greater role in promoting economic and social development in Shandong Province.
