On September 27th, the 6th Dongyi Culture Forum was grandly held in Linyi City, Shandong Province. It was co-sponsored by the Chinese Pre-Qin History Society, Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, Shandong Tourism Development Committee and Linyi Municipal People's Government, and organized by Linyi Economic and Technological Development Zone. Jin Baoping, former Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Research Bureau, President of the China Urban Economics Association; Song Zhenhao, President of the Chinese Society of Pre-Qin History; Wang Zhidong, vice president of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences; Sun Shu'e, deputy director of Shandong Tourism Development Committee; Zhang Yulan, deputy mayor of Linyi Municipal People's Government; and Zhang Danqing, director of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, attended the opening ceremony. More than 100 experts and scholars in the field of Dongyi culture research attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Zhang Yulan, deputy mayor of Linyi Municipal People's Government, gave a welcome speech. Wang Zhidong, vice president of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences; Sun Shu'e, deputy director of Shandong Tourism Development Committee and Song Zhenhao, president of China Pre-Qin History Society, made speeches respectively. Jin Baoping, former Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Research Bureau, President of the China Urban Economics Association, delivered a speech.

Vice President Wang Zhidong pointed out that the prehistoric civilization of Dongyi in Shandong is an important source and cradle of Chinese civilization. Further strengthening the research of  Dongyi culture and history in the new era is not only the requirement of implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of Xi Jinping, but also the concrete actions to carry forward and inherit the outstanding traditional Chinese culture. It is of great academic value and practical significance to explore the origin, migration, integration and even the radiation and influence to other civilizations of the early Chinese civilization. To a certain extent, it is also a worldwide issue.  It has very important cultural values and epochal significance to promote the Chinese culture to the world, further carry forward the Chinese cultural spirit and core values, and exchange with other civilizations of the world, jointly promote the prosperity, progress, innovation and development of human civilization. 

At the seminar, experts and scholars respectively made subject speeches. Song Zhenhao, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and President of the Chinese Society of Pre-Qin History, gave a report titled "Shandong Linyi is an important core area of Dongyi culture". Meng Xiangcai, professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies of Confucianism at Shandong University, the title of his report is "The Relationship between Dongyi Culture and Qilu Culture and Chinese Traditional Culture". Li Jianmin, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, reported with the subject "Dongyi and Chiyou”. Du Yong, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Pre-Qin History and Professor of college of History and Culture, Tianjin Normal University, made a report titled "The relationship between Xuzi Country and Huaiyi and Dongyi". Sun Jingming, a researcher at the Weifang Museum, reported with the subject "Coin culture archaeological in Haidai area". Yang Wensheng, deputy dean and researcher of Henan Institute of Archaeology, gave a report titled "the connotation and extension of Dongyi culture under the vision of archaeological data and historical literature". Ge Zhiyi, vice President of the Pre-Qin History Society of China, , Distinguished Professor of Dalian University reported with "Xu Country, which is deep influenced by Dongyi culture ". Yan Shengdong, vice President and Professor of Qilu Culture Research Institute, Shandong Normal University, made a subject report with "Classification, Distribution and Related Archaeological Remains of Dongyi Countries in the Spring and Autumn Period". Ding Zaixian, vice president of Shandong Tourism Industry Association, reported with the subject "Longshan culture is the watershed of 5,000 years of civilized society". Song Lucheng, Director and Professor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department of Qianfoshan Hospital of Shandong Province, gave a report with the title "The Origin of Dongyi Medicine". Ji Guangyun, Professor of Linyi University reported with the subject "The Role of Dongyi Customs in the Formation of the Traditional Cultural Characters of Yimeng People". Zhang Congjun, Professor of Shandong Institute of Arts and Crafts, made a report with the subject "Interpretation of the vivid performance of Dongyi culture under the angles of makeup, clothing and ceremonies". Pan Jianrong, director of the Institute of History, Culture and Archaeology of Heze, made a report on the theme of " History and Culture of Heze and Ancient Chinese Civilization".

Focusing on the subjects of origin of Dongyi culture, historical evolution, cultural contribution, the origin of Dongyi culture and Chinese civilization and their mutual dialectical relationship, the internal relationship between Dongyi culture and Yimeng spirit; in a scientific and rigorous spirit, all experts from three aspects of history, archaeology and integration research and development,

enthusiastically discussed the spatial distribution, time definition, pedigree inheritance, cultural characteristics, cultural value, historical contribution, development and utilization of Dongyi culture. They put forward many very valuable opinions and suggestions on how to inherit and promote Dongyi culture in the new situation and let Dongyi culture realize creative transformation and innovative development in today's society.

On the morning of the 28th, the 6th Dongyi Culture Forum was successfully concluded! At the closing ceremony, Zhang Congjun, professor of Shandong Institute of Arts and Crafts, Tian Jibao, director of Longshan Culture Museum, and Ding Zaixian, vice president of Shandong Tourism Industry Association, reported on behalf of the historical documentary group, the archaeological group and the integration research and development group. Gong Chang, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Pre-Qin History Society made a comprehensive and profound meeting summary. Wang Zhidong, vice president of the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, made a closing speech. 

Gong Chang, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Pre-Qin History Society made an academic summary in the form of "3231". He believed that this Dongyi Culture Forum was a  high-level event, which realized the combination of academic research and on-the-spot investigation , conference speeches and group discussions. The seminar deepened the understanding of the connotation and extension of Dongyi culture, the historical status and influence of Dongyi culture, and the integration of R&D in various fields of Dongyi culture. The consensus of “Linyi is an important core area of Dongyi culture” was reached. This seminar promoted the in-depth development of the national Dongyi culture research and made positive academic contributions to vigorously promote the outstanding traditional culture of the Chinese nation.

It is reported that Dongyi culture is an ancient culture created by the Dongyi ancestors of China, which has an independent system, unique style, no discontinuity, and long-lasting cultural influence. It is an important source of Chinese civilization. It has made outstanding contributions in the process of historical development and cultural creation of the Chinese nation. It has an important historical status. For a long time, China's history, archaeology and industrial circles have attached great importance to the research and development of Dongyi culture, and have obtained a number of research results with significant influence.The academic research team has been expanding. At present, experts and scholars all over the country adhere to the combination of historical inheritance and modern innovation, combining traditional features with the spirit of the times, combining theoretical research with practical exploration. They strive to achieve greater achievements, launch more products, and achieve greater breakthroughs in the historical inheritance, cultural continuity, and development of Dongyi culture, to make greater academic contributions to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture.
